I teach workshops online and in person. Please contact me for more information if you would like to host any of these at your studio, or click on the upcoming workshop links to book a place on a course.

Race, Ethnicity and Yoga

Racism affects every sphere of our society and has wide implications for the health and well-being of those who directly suffer it and also their descendants. People who suffer from racial discrimination are more susceptible to a wide range of mental & physical health conditions and as yoga teachers & therapists we should be aware of why this is and how we can help. Before we can do this we need to be fully able to recognise when we ourselves are holding unconscious bias because of someone’s race or ethnicity and have the competence to act on it to make positive change, not only within ourselves, but for the wider community.

Upcoming Online Workshops

4 November 09.30 – 13.30 @ Yogacampus

Teaching Trauma Sensitive Yoga

When working with those suffering from trauma, we have to develop a skill set to ensure we do not add to any sense of threat or worry. Our approach, our language and our intention can assist or impair our efficacy. In this workshop you will learn about the effects of trauma and how we can make not only specialist classes trauma sensitive but also our regular classes. We will learn how to create a safe space so all can feel supported.

Partner Massage

This two day course will teach you how to give your partner a full body massage.  You will learn a range of professional massage techniques which will help you to increase range of motion, relieve pain, reduce tension/stress and help your partner relax.  I have selected my most effective techniques which are simple enough for complete beginners to learn and use.

Developing Touch: an Adjustments Workshop

In this course you will learn how to develop your sense of touch so that you feel confident to give adjustments. You’ll learn joint mobilisation, assisted stretching techniques such as PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation), MET (muscle energy technique) and advanced STR (soft tissue release).  We’ll also look at Myofascial release, acupressure & appropriate massage techniques to help your clients gain greater flexibility, joint mobility (and stability), release muscle tension, aid deeper breathing and assist relaxation.

Yoga for Mental Health, Addiction & Stress

In this two day workshop you will learn about common mental health conditions and how to apply yogic techniques and practices to help clients suffering from them.
